The Python Conference (also called PyConcite-ref-barry2016-1-0[1]) is the largestcite-ref-ieee-2-0[2]cite-ref-3[3] annual convention for the discussion and promotion of the Python programming language.cite-ref-4[4]cite-ref-5[5] It originated in the United States but is also held in more than 40 other countries.cite-ref-6[6]cite-ref-7[7]cite-ref-8[8] It was one of the first computer programming conferences to develop and adhere to a code of conduct.cite-ref-barry2016-1-1[1] The conference hosts tutorials, demonstrations and training sessions.cite-ref-boschetti2016-9-0[9]

PyCon 2020 was listed as one of "The best software engineering conferences [to attend] of 2020" and "As Python becomes ever more popular in the scientific community and for big data, the influence of PyCon will continue to grow."cite-ref-10[10] PyCon is often attended by Guido van Rossum (the author of the Python language).cite-ref-ieee-2-1[2]cite-ref-11[11] Other groups, such as PyLadies and Django Girls, often have concurrent sessions.cite-ref-12[12]
